NeuroNights – 24th April (BYOB2025)

April 24 @ 17:00 22:00

Ready to Share Your Passion for Science? Join us for NeuroNights!

We’re currently looking for passionate science communicators to help us shape the events – which will soon be open to the public for registration. See below for details.

Are you a scientist, researcher, or science communicator with a flair for fun and engagement?

NeuroNights is calling for speakers to join our two exciting, public-facing events in Liverpool! This is your chance to share your knowledge, bust myths, and bring science to life for an enthusiastic audience.

1.   Neuromyth Busters: Stand-up Comedy
We’re looking for creative, humorous 10-minute sets  tackling popular science or neuroscience myths. Whether you’re passionate about debunking misconceptions, just love making people laugh or want to try something new, we want to hear from you.

2.   Battle of the Brains – Interactive Debates
Ready to flex your debating muscles? Join us for lively 15-minute debates on hot neuroscience topics. Whether it’s “Are drugs bad for your brain?” or “Can you really multitask?” These sessions are science-focused but accessible and fun. Come as a duo or let us pair you with a battle partner.

Training Sessions

If your set or debate idea is accepted, you’ll be invited to a training session to hone your public engagement skills and ensure your presentation is as impactful and engaging as possible. Think of it as the perfect chance to refine your performance and connect with like-minded communicators.

Why Get Involved?

  • Share your love of science with the curious public.
  • Build your public engagement skills in a vibrant, supportive environment.
  • Spark excitement for neuroscience ahead of the British Neuroscience Association Festival 2025.

No prior public engagement experience is required.

If you have any questions, email neuronights@lng.org.uk.

Don’t miss the chance to connect with the public and showcase the power of science!
