The Liverpool Neuroscience Group, established in 2010 by Dr. Yvonne Allen at the University of Liverpool, now brings together multiple institutions across the Liverpool City Region to create a multi-disciplinary network of academics, clinicians, researchers, and students who share a passion for neuroscience.
As the local group of the British Neuroscience Association it connects Liverpool to the wider neuroscience research community – across the UK, and Internationally.
The Liverpool Neuroscience Group is supported by, and run by volunteers from our local partner organisations.

LNG Organisation & Events
The Liverpool Neuroscience Group Committee, made up of representatives from all our partner institutions, organises a regular programme of events throughout the year, designed to foster discussion and collaboration, and to highlight the work of local neuroscientists.
Our flagship event is the free Liverpool Neuroscience Day – where researchers, students, and clinicians from across Liverpool (and beyond) are invited to present their work to the community. The day typically also includes invited keynotes from internationally renowned neuroscientists, poster sessions, and an evening reception.
We also host themed seminars and workshops, such as the Autumn 2024: Clinical Neuroscience & Mental Health Research Seminar
A recent tradition is our festive events, designed to end the year with celebrations & cerebrations.
LNG Members are also invited to key events from our partner institutions, including The Walton Centre’s Sutcliffe Kerr Lecture, and Liverpool John Moores University’s RCBB Seminars.
The events have a proven record of encouraging collaboration between members across institutions and disciplines.
LNG:ECR

LNG:ECR is our active network for Early Career Researchers, including Students and New PIs.
The LNG:ECR network is run by an independent committee of ECRs from across our partner institutions, and regularly hosts meetings, workshops, and seminars tailored to Early Career Researchers – with a focus on skill development and career progression.
